October 23, 2012

I've taken the step of typing my book onto the computer. I don't have that many chapters yet, but as I started typing more ideas came to mind.

Since I started school in September I've been neglecting my writing. It's easier for me to make progress if I step away for awhile and come back. I have to admit, though, that I've just been lazy.

When I begin writing I write by hand first. I write pages and I constantly go back and make changes. Any idea that I come up with that I know I want to put in my book for sure I write down, but I just start writing with a general outline that I have in my head.

This book has undergone a lot of changes since I came up with an initial idea. Once I read over what I've written I'm often discouraged when the story isn't coming out right. I write many pages over and over again until I can get the correct flow.

Now that I've typed some pages up I feel more confident with how the book as evolved. I know I'm getting there.

I've got a few more pages down since my last update. I've also changed that character's name from the last entry again. I'm almost positive I'm going to keep this last name. I really like it.

In other news, school started this week. I'm looking forward to completing my last class!

Last night I wrote a few pages while watching Sherlock season one. For me, a few pages is great progress. I really love what I wrote as well.

The other day I also decided to change a new character's name for the third time. I'd write the name, but I'm afraid I might change my mind again. I tend to go through many name changes while I begin writing. I always find it hard to come up with place names and surnames. First names are hard for me to decide on, but I always come up with lots of options.

Introduction

Hello! I'm Brittany Ann Kramer and this is a blog to keep interested readers up to date on the progress of my book series Kavanagh Supernatural Investigators.

Book one has been self-published (view below) and I'm working on book two. This blog will be a place to vent when I hit a writer's block and a place to express happiness when I've made progress. I hope to share background information, such as character biographies, here as well.

Kavanagh Supernatural Investigators is an urban fantasy series about a group of young people who combat supernatural forces in their town. The series combines human drama, love, and fantasy.

The series is self-published through CreateSpace, an Amazon company. Bear in mind that the books contain imperfections.

Book #1, The Case of the Cousins is available now in two formats: Paperback | Kindle
